Seattle Rock n Roll MarathonPosted by admin in Iron Man 2010, Triathlon, tags: ironman, TriathlonNow this run was funner than heck. Time was about 5:47(first marathon was 5:07). The time seeen in the foto was gun time for the pros start, then they let the average Joes go in Corrals 2 minutes apart. They had mile markers the whole way. It did not feel like a race. It felt like a bunch of crazies yelling “wahoooo” while taking over the freeway tunnels of Seattle. Took it easy after mile 15 and started walking every other mile at mile 18 since I am doing a half iron in mid July.

IronMan Coeur d’Alene 2009Posted by admin in Iron Man 2010, Triathlon, tags: Iron Man, TriathlonSwam about 90% of the IM swim loop this morning, but was cut off early due to a kayak person waving and yelling “course closed”! I “finished” my third Olympic Tri with a time of about 3 hrs. The changes on my bike design with the seat post and head post forward preserved some of my leg muscles for the run and I felt great at about mile 2 of the 6 mile run. Thanks Jason! I won 3rd to last place in the men, women, and “clydesdale division. The swim was probably the toughest since I had not trained that much in swimming over the winter or spring. Many passed me on the bike. the run too. Over the 6 mile run, I was able to only pass two others, and it took me a creepy crawly pace to even pass them! More pix here. scroll down to Olympic Moses Lake 2009. Holy Hot as heck today. Ran 10 mile loop. /ahem, I mean ran 5 and walked about 5. Dipped my shirt and hat in the river 2x to stay cool. Lost 3 pounds from that “run”. Afternoon is the worst time to run during the summer. But great time to “train the mind”. Pulled a 56 mile bike in about 3.2 hrs. Neck was sore at about mile 35. Knee joints swelled little near the end, but overall felt good. The final bike tune with Jason Jablonski worked well to make me more efficient and more comfortable. Perhaps just raising the handlebar stem a half inch or so might help with neck pain. Not sure. Now I just need to do some brick training and start a mile or so run after the 56 bike to prepare for half IM. |
